Early on this summer I tuned into the Price is Right while I was making breakfast. I hadn’t seen it in a while. At one point I stopped right in my tracks and said “Wow, WHO… is that?” I did my homework and found out she’s Manuela Arbelaez. If I’m home I try not to miss her. There’s a 1 in 5 chance she’ll be on any given show. I figured it would be interesting to make some Price is Right art. I intended to make a game too, but I thought that would be a bit much.

I used 3 images for inspiration and somehow 1 of them turned up missing. The “Price is Right Pose” isn’t hard to remember anyway. This is the closest thing to my actual drawing style. The few people I’ve shown think it looks like Grand Theft Auto. I take that as a compliment. I’m definitely gonna make another Manuela in a realistic style when I get a chance. I can do much better now.

The whole point of doing this was too see if I could execute shadow and shine. Simple enough eh? I was off to a good start. This image laid the foundation for my next post… Rachel McAdams. I tried my hand at more advanced detailing techniques. Anyway, it’s time for The Price is Right seriously… gotta go!
